We are excited to bring you another behind-the-scenes update as we continue to enhance our panoramas in TimeLens. Today, we're focusing on a crucial aspect of our work: posing the characters in our 3D models to create lifelike and engaging scenes.
We don’t just want our panorama’s to show the architectural splendor of ancient sites but also bring them back to life with people who once walked in these places. By carefully posing characters within our 3D models, we look for the right feel of the scene. In this case the scene is set in the Panathenaic procession that took place in Athens yearly (in a bigger form every 4 years) and is probably depicted on the Parthenon itself.
We start with very rough sketches to figure out how to set the scene and then build it in 3D. In this model we look around from the point of view of the user and finetune each character's position.
We hope you enjoy this insight into our process and look forward to sharing more updates as we continue our journey to bring history to life.
